Alex and I decided to make a tour of London during the August holidays for close to one week. I must admit that our stay in London was one to remember. This is because we really had fun and a very good time during our stay there. This drew me to write a bit more about our experience.
We landed at Heathrow airport on Friday in the morning. The flight had been successful and we thanked God that we had arrived safely. We spent a few hours relaxing and took the tube into town, and was just enjoying being on the ground after a long flight, we stopped and bought some fish and chips, as Alex was quite hungry,, and neither of us had had much of the airline food as it was to early for us to eat.
Before long, we were on our way to Park Grand London Paddington Hotel which is a modern Hotel easily accessible by public transport. In our case we were enjoying our morning walk and it was only a few minutes from the tube station.
We were warmly welcomed before being shown into their guest rooms. The most unforgettable thing about this hotel for me was their rooms which were beautifully designed with a lot of style and comfort. Their very chic bedrooms that were beautifully furnished with modern amenities such as broadband, Wi-Fi, satellite channels, coffee and tea making facilities and much more made it hard for me to want to go back home.
I remember Alex not wanting to be woken up, not because he was sleeping but because he had been having such a good time on his cozy bed. The relaxing rooms with comfy mattresses and the awesome ventilation almost made us want to sleep forever. So far everything was so perfect and as planned.
London food is delicious and a fabulous selection for all tastes. I liked how there were so many varieties of food to choose from including African, Indian, and Arabic cuisines. It is like they had all this specifically in plan for us. I couldn’t believe I was in the United Kingdom. Later we were taken for a tour of the Hotel. The humid air and very clean and green environment gave the hotel a lovely touch of nature.
The Park Grand Paddington provided a calm and relaxing stay for me and my son with so much style. This had always been my kind of environment. I also loved the modern club rooms with the complimentary fruit as well as mineral water on arrival there was also local newspaper and the fitness place, which at times is hard to keep up with, when on the road so often.
We had a leisurely trip and loved walking through the streets of London that had the perfect balance of history and modernization. We even shopped a little and went to have our very own picnic in Hyde Park. Summers in London are just awesome and we had the best of the London weather when we went for the picnic. It was bright and sunny with people lazing around the park. We even went for a boat ride on the Thames.
Nothing can be compared to staying it London. It is one of the oldest cities in the world and yet it is one of the most advanced cities that give you every form of entertainment that you can think of. Museums rule the city and we visited quite a few of them and took hours to see the great historical artifacts and the wonders of the creations. We even visited Madame Tussauds and had great fun seeing the wax dolls of eminent personalities from all around the world.
After our enjoyable but long week, we decided to relax and pack our bags early and get a place near the airport. We found an awesome four star hotel with the most hospitable welcome in all of London. We relaxed in the luxury of the Park Grand Heathrow before catching our flight to our next destination..
London definitely provides a lot of fun and entertainment for the whole family and we will surely be back again to this wonderful city.
